It's AbbyShot's FIFTH Birthday!

Wow, it's just starting to hit us: AbbyShot is FIVE years old today! We started creating our amazing coats back in 2002 and with the help of all our loyal customers and supporters we're still living our dream today!

We celebrated with a bit of birthday cake and reminisced about all the good times.

We fired up our trusty projector and showed some pictures from the past 5 years! We figured we'd share some of these with you, with a few stories too.

2002 - The Beginning!

The company started on July 18th, 2002 with an exciting dream: to make the best movie-inspired clothing in the world! Back then we had only a handful of products and even fewer staff!

The First AbbyShot Birthday in 2003! Don't Ask.

The year 2003 marked our first time at Dragon*Con in Atlanta, where we met the incredible Mike Tate, showing off his Sunstalker coat above. After 1 year, we knew we were onto something good!

2004

2004 was the year of AbbyCon, when we sent out an open invitation for customers to come party with us. Our good friends Evan and Karen (yes, AtomicFerret!) from Atlanta heeded the call and had a great time in lovely Newfoundland.

2005

2005 was truly the year of the Browncoat at Dragon*Con in Atlanta, and the AbbyShot girls rocked in their beautiful Zoe Vests. Most people DON'T know that it was also the year of awesome Christmas decorations on our front window (Thanks Erin)!

2006

So many good memories, but one really stands out. Once again the AbbyShot girls were turning heads at Dragon*Con (a yearly occurrence!) with the first Kill Bill Jackets.

The above picture is one of our happiest memories from this year (so far): the whole team there when we won the "Newfoundland & Labrador Department of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development Exporting Award of Merit 2007". Good times for sure.

Before we go, we have a quick blast from the past for you. Do you remember THIS? It's AbbyShot's website circa 2003! Let's do the time warp again...

Deckard Version 2 NOW AVAILABLE!

In case you missed our latest newsletter (and why miss it when you can Sign Up?), AbbyShot has some tasty news for you:
The Deckard Version 2 is NOW AVAILABLE!

After months of tweaking, perfecting, and then tweaking some more, our first run of Deckard coats is almost complete and ready to ship. The first batch is going to our true believers who unofficially PRE-ordered the coat before it was even finished. Thanks so much for your trust in AbbyShot guys!

As a special bonus for the blog, we've got some detailed pictures below of the final Deckard Version 2 that even the Product Page won't show you. This is in no way our professional photo shoot though, that will be coming very soon!

If you want to be next in line to own this amazing Blade Runner replica, the Product Page is right here! You know what to do!

As you can see, there are many shades to Deckard! We absolutely wanted to test it out in different lighting conditions to show you that what you see in photos is not always what you get. Our photographer definitely has his work cut out for him over how to light this one for the photo shoot!

Another important element we had to show you: the infamous Deckard collar! We're so happy with how this turned out.

Finally, two pictures to show off the collar all buttoned up and the back of the coat. Note the first-aid kit in the picture on the left: something Deckard would have been happy to have during his adventures! The only thing we didn't get a picture of was the coat in its soaking-wet state (how it spends much of the movie), but this is our first sample so we had to resist!

If there are any pictures you need to see that aren't on here please leave a message in the comments! Remember, the Deckard Version 2 is now available right now!

Customer Emails: July Edition!

This month we have two sets of photos. One set from a pair of Scandinavian customers, and one sent from an American customer.

First we have our more northern friends, (actually further north than us! Woo Hoo!) K_Duck and Wolfendastier. They sent some great photos taken this past February. They tell us that their AbbyShot coats are their most favourite clothing and they are rarely seen without them!

Next, Sean sent us some great looking photos of him wearing his Lobby Reloaded Trench. With the lighting done the way he did, he looks positively vampiric! A simple yet effective photo technique!
