Another month rolls by, more great customer photos roll in!
This time we've got "oics" from customers on both sides of the Atlantic.

We'll start off "across the pond" with Neil from the UK, who gave us some awesome shots in his Silent Bob coat. He's got all the elements covered: the ball cap, the beard, he's even got Jay and Dante with him!

Now from the US of A, it's our good friend "Endless Void" who is, as many of you know, from "Sunny" California! He's looking positively dashing in his Malice Mizer trench coat.

AbbyShot Gets Foster Chickens!

The AbbyShot Team recently got a HUGE surprise in the mail thanks to a very kind and generous customer. A mystery package arrived and was full of something we NEVER would have expected:
CHICKENS!

Terri Hardin, who recently bought our Lobby Reloaded Wool Custom, actually designed these wonderful chickens for a Foster Farms ad campaign. Terri is a very talented designer who has worked as a puppeteer for the Jim Henson Company (how cool is that?!) and she even has her own great blog:

So these chickens were cool enough as a gift and have already taken their places around our sewing room and offices, but we had to put the AbbyShot touch on them. Observe...

It can only be: The Neo Chicken!

Saving fellow chickens from the Matrix is all in a day's work for the Neo Chicken.
Now if only he could find time to go to a tailor to shorten that coat...

AbbyShot in the Press!

It's been an exciting end of the week here at AbbyShot because we had a GREAT article written about us on SciFi.com! It's in their Reviews section under "Cool Stuff" (of course!) and it's a wonderful A+ Review of our Deckard Trench coat!

Here's just a small excerpt:

One great thing about this coat is that it is timeless. It evokes an era of 1940s Humphrey Bogart, but also an era in the future when police cars fly and replicants roam the streets. You could wear this coat and get several different reactions. First, you'd get "Oh, that's a nice trench coat" from people who are not in the know, and better yet, from people who understand, you'll get "Wow. Blade Runner!" It really is a real, wearable coat for any occasion on the one hand, and on the other it's a loving homage to a film that many of us consider one of the best SF films ever made.

On another cool note, our Akira inspired Pill Jacket was mentioned on Ain't It Cool News! It's a part of "Scott Green's Anime AICN", featuring all kinds of fun anime news.

2008: Landmark Year for Akira
This year - 2008 - is the 20th anniversary of Akira, and Warner Brothers studio recently announced that they will film not one but two live-action Akira movies, the first for release in Summer 2009. The studio is describing the movie as "Blade Runner meets City of God". As anime fans already know, Akira has both a strong story and great action, including futuristic motorcycle chases and a secret military project that threatens Neo-Tokyo with an explosion of epic proportions.

Prototype pictures of the Pill Jacket were originally released on the AbbyShot Blog for fan feedback, and over time vocal supporters pushed for the release of AbbyShot's modern take on this design. Here is just one example of the many positive comments received on the blog:

"I say definitely go with something which can be worn everyday! An athletic streamlined fit like a real motorcycle jacket is essential. I don't want to wear an oversized baggy jacket. The pics look good. Let's get it done so I can order."
